Starbucks Celebrates MLK Day with Teen Feed – The Basic Needs January 2017 List

It’s been a cold and challenging winter, and it’s even tougher to start 2017 sleeping outside for our homeless youth. This year Martin Luther King Jr Day marks the kickoff of Starbucks Coffee Office Basic Needs Drive collecting sleeping bags, camp gear, wool items, toiletries and healthy snacks at the Utah Avenue Support Center to benefit Teen Feed.  The monthly Starbucks volunteer meal team also joins us for a deep-clean of our host kitchens in the University District.
As youth make their way off the streets, our community travels with us.  These items fill outreach backpacks, promote self care and keep them warm and dry.  Below are a few items that are running low or that youth have specifically requested. (Thanks Starbucks!)  Want to start your own office drive?  Check out this page.
